What to Know

Gala tickets are sold by Carnegie Hall’s special events office.

The Court wears black tie.

It is a separate occasion from the Metropolitan Opera’s opening night, and from the Court’s own Opera, Ballet and Philharmonic Evenings.

Guests applaud at a long table hung with strings of light and glass globes. A gala dinner, shown for Carnegie Hall Opening Night Gala in the season calendar of The Mansa Court

The Court

The Opening Night Gala is not the Court’s own. Gala tickets are sought on a member’s behalf, and the Court arranges the rest of the evening.

How one becomes a member is set out under Admission.
